Publication Manager

When a new Publication is created or it is loaded from disk HyperMaker will display two panes that help you configure and handle the publication files and settings.

The window where those panes appear is called the Publication Manager and it is the center of HyperMaker work environment.

The left pane has three tabs in the lower left corner.

The Tab that appears at first is the   Settings  Tab from where you can select which Tab you will see in the right pane.

The second Tab   TOC  displays the Table of Contents. When creating the TOC you should display the File Tab in the right pane in order to select and drag and drop files to the TOC when building your Table of Contents.

The   Index  Tab is the third one and it shows the keyword index.

The right pane (and the bigger one) has 10 tabs:

  1. When a publication is created or opened, always the first Tab, Files, showing the publication files, is displayed.
  2. The Interface Tab configures the Ebook appearance and the Main options.
  3. Options Tab sets some options that affect how the Ebook work.
  4. Use the Protection Tab to set Ebook access passwords and expiration options.
  5. The Special Files Tab let you specify which files will be used for special purposes in your publication.
  6. The Search Tab shows the list of pages excluded from searching and some search options as well.
  7. External Tab allows you configuring messages shown before using external programs and which program will open ASCII files.
  8. The Print Tab configures printing options.
  9. Use Exclusions Tab to regulate which files will be excluded from the Ebook compilation.
  10. The Setup Tab configures the Ebook installer and let you select the Executable Ebook icon as well.

You can select any tab in the right pane either by selecting it in the Settings tab (in the left pane) or by clicking one of the tabs right below the right pane.

Click the   Help  button a any time (it is placed below the right pane) to see contextual help about the Tab that is currently active.

All settings set with Publication Manager are saved as HyperMaker publications with .hmpub file extension.

Click on File > Save or File > Save As to save your publication.
