Passwords with expiration date

To generate a password (done at User registration window) with an expiration date write the date in the Expiration date text and also select Use expiration date checkbox.

If you do not select Use expiration date the registration key will be valid forever, otherwise the registration key will expire when the date is reached.

When the key expires, two different things can happen, depending on if Temporal Password or Temporal Registration were set in Protection tab.

If the Ebook was compiled with Temporal Registration selected it will revert back to unregistered mode as soon as the date specified in the User registration window is reached.

If you want to prevent your users from sharing the registration key with their friends we recommend to select Temporal Password. In this way you user will have the enough time to register the publication. After the expiration date he will not be able to share the key, which will be unworkable, but the publication will remain registered forever.

On the other hand, if you want to grant full access to the publication only for a while, select Temporal Registration, so the publication will automatically revert back to unregistered mode when the date is reached.
