Generating Passwords for HyperMaker Ebooks

Ebooks can have some pages made not viewable (called protected pages), or you can make the eBook to stop working after a previously set period of time unless the user/reader types in a password.

To generate a password from HyperMaker click the Registration > Generate Password for Ebook menu.

A window for generating a password will appear where you have to fill some text fields and options.

First fill in the User Name provided by the user and the Publication Title (both written with the correct capitalization).

Always remember which password options you selected when you compiled your eBook and set the options when generating a password correspondingly.

If I.D. + user name + publication title is selected you must write the Identification number which must be provided by the reader. If you use a form, this step can be automated so that the user only enters their name and submits the form (see Warning page).

If you want to generate a registration with an expiration date, write the date and be sure there is a check mark for Use expiration date in the check box provided.

If Add to database is selected, all registration information will be saved in your Users database.

Click to generate the registration key which then places the number on your computer's clipboard, ready for you to paste it, where you want it.

Note: The registration is generated using only the first 12 characters of the Publication title and User name. Example:

Title: The secret path to knowledge I

Name: John Stuart

and

Title: The secret path to knowledge II

Name: John Stuart

Will produce exactly the same Registration Key.

Note: By default HyperMaker passwords are composed of 12 character length uppercase letters with no numbers, although using numbers or lowercase letters is allowed. We recommend not using shorter passwords, but if you prefer using longer ones take care in setting the REGKEY field in the registration page to the proper length. Learn more
