Registration key with expiration date

To generate a registration key with an expiration date write the date in the Expiration date text box and select the Use expiration date checkbox in User registration window (if no date is specified this option will have no effect):

If you do not select Use expiration date the registration key will be valid forever, otherwise the registration key will expire when the date is reached.

When the key expires, two different things can happen, depending on if Temporal Password or Temporal Registration was set in Protection tab.

If the publication was compiled with Temporal Registration selected (see the image to the left) the publication will revert back to unregistered mode as soon as the date specified in the User registration window is reached.

If you want to prevent your users from sharing the registration key with their friends we recommend to select Temporal Password. In this way you user will have the enough time to register the publication. After the expiration date he will not be able to share the key, which will be unworkable, but the publication will remain registered forever.

On the other hand, if you want to grant full access to the publication only for a while, select Temporal Registration, so the publication will automatically revert back to unregistered mode when the date is reached.
